Atlanta, GA – January 15, 2009 – eMag Solutions, LLC, an international provider of electronic discovery services and data management solutions, has received ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification from BSI Management Systems, a leading information security management systems (ISMS) certification body. eMag was awarded the distinction – certificate number 535307 – for its U.S. operations center which provides tape restoration, e-discovery services and forensic sciences.

In July 2008, eMag achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification for its U.K. operations center.

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is an ISMS standard published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) that identifies, manages and minimizes a range of threats to business information. It is widely considered a gold standard in information security, providing guidelines for implementing a constructive risk management process, setting up policies, and ensuring a secure infrastructure is in place. This standard shows that a business has taken preventative measures to protect clients’ data, and demonstrates to customers and prospects that the business is observing a duty of care.

ISO/IEC 27001:2005 represents the only auditable international standard to define the requirements for ISMS, with certification achieved exclusively by companies that demonstrate the highest competency in information security management. eMag is the only e-discovery company to have its e-discovery processing centers certified under ISO/IEC 27001:2005, and one of only 82 companies in the United States to currently have this elite accreditation.

“Highly sensitive client data is at the core of the services delivered by eMag Solutions, so handling this data with the utmost sensitivity and security is critical. We are proud to have implemented unmatched internal procedures to ensure that client data is processed to the highest quality standards,” said Trey Wilkins, Vice President of Data Security at eMag Solutions.

The company’s recently appointed CEO Larry Geisel added, “eMag has implemented an unparalleled operational infrastructure and its quality-driven culture is one of the main reasons I joined eMag. ISO 27001 accreditation further strengthens eMag’s unique market position and complements our aggressive services expansion plans and product development schedules.”

eMag Solutions began its quest to secure ISO 27001 certification earlier this year; though much of the groundwork was laid prior to submitting the application with BSI, as eMag’s security measures have long been models for the industry. The company’s purpose-built facilities, proprietary systems, and processes have created an ideal environment for integration into an ISO framework. Achieving ISO certification further enhances the company’s capabilities and ensures the safety, integrity, and quality processing of client data.

eMag Solutions delivers comprehensive electronic discovery and data management services, specializing in accessing data from a variety of archived sources through worldwide data centers, providing law firms, corporations, and government clients with proactive and reactive solutions for litigation, regulatory, and compliance matters that dramatically reduce cost, improve accuracy, and accelerate turnaround.
