eMag Solutions, a leading international electronic disclosure and computer forensics company, announced today it is establishing its European headquarters in Cardiff.

Cardiff (January 16, 2007) – eMag Solutions, a privately owned company based in Atlanta, has a long association with Wales and chose Cardiff above any other location for its new HQ because of the access to a highly skilled and loyal workforce.
It was also supported by the Welsh Assembly Government’s International Business Wales team in Houston and in Wales.

Their new Cardiff office will service the company’s rapidly growing client base in the UK and Europe which already includes most of the leading business consultancies, forensic accountants, a significant number of FTSE 100 banks and insurance companies along with major law firms in the UK.

The use of information technology as the primary means of doing business and generating business information is behind the growth of e Disclosure and forensic computing which involves the identification, collection, analysis , production and presentation of electronically stored information (ESI) for both compliance and regulatory use, or for use as evidence in a court of law.

Electronic evidence has become vital to legal investigations and companies involved in eDisclosure use highly technical and sophisticated methods that may involve cracking codes and encryptions, searching and restoring seemingly elusive data, tracking down and retrieving files that have been deleted while establishing clear audit trails of their investigations.

eDisclosure is playing a more prominent role in litigation today, a fact reflected in the recently updated Federal Rule of Civil Procedure in the States that defined ESI and its role. In many recent high profile cases such as Morgan Stanley and Enron, eDisclosure played a key role influencing the outcome of these cases.

eDisclosure is a relatively new and emerging market in the UK which is growing very rapidly.

eMag Solutions President and Chief Executive Brendan Sullivan, who is based in Atlanta, said the company had a long and deep history in Wales.

“We began our history in Brynmawr and Abertillery as a former media manufacturer and, as we?ve progressed into a full service litigation technology company, our business location has never been more important.

“We must have fast access to the major legal and financial markets in London as well as access to a highly skilled and technical workforce where employment loyalty is prevalent. We feel Cardiff can offer us the right blend and look forward to continued expansion here.”

The company’s decision to locate their European HQ in Cardiff has been welcomed by Andrew Davies, Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks, who said Wales is already playing a key role within the UK in the prevention of e crime.

“eDisclosure and computer forensics is an extremely sophisticated field which is growing at a phenomenal rate. It represents the higher value added end of the information technology industry, requiring highly skilled, highly trained and highly paid technical staff.

“eMag Solutions is bringing cutting edge information technology to the UK and we are delighted that through the support of the Assembly Government’s International Business Wales team in Houston and Cardiff they made the decision to set up their European headquarters in Wales.

“They could have located anywhere in the UK and it is a reflection of the skills, expertise and the advanced IT sector in Wales that they chose Cardiff.”
eMag Solutions which is based at Cardiff Gate, anticipates creating up to twenty three high value jobs at the centre which will include management posts, senior forensic engineers, software developers and technicians.
