With just 24 hours to complete the work, eMag Solutions recently received 38 LTO 1 tapes which required processing before being presented in court the next day. With the restoration of just over 1 TB from 2 email clients backed up in different environments and different countries; eMag worked around the clock to ensure the deadline was met…

Without eMag?s help, the client would have had to recreate both exchange servers exactly as they were when the data was first recorded. In addition to the difficulty associated with this, the client would also need to know all the exchange server passwords. The data would then need to be restored before it could be migrated to a readable source. By using proprietary software, eMag were able to completely bypass the exchange server and its passwords and proceed immediately with migration for the UK site, demonstrating the advantages of non-native restoration when timescales are non-negotiable.

eMag’s participation in this project saved the client an abundance of resources, in particular, time, capital and labour. In addition to this, the fact that the evidence was collected by a third party instantly offers credence, especially if the data is to be presented in Court as there is less possibility of bias. Have you thought about how your firm would manage this process should a large volume of information need to be extracted, de-duplicated and prepared to provide evidence in court?

If you have not yet considered the implications and possibilities, you need to. For more advice on e-Discovery or any other data service, call 01495 322208 or email services@emaglink.co.uk.
