New software product enables eMag to provide the industry’s most accurate pricing and scheduling estimates for electronic discovery and data restoration projects

New York (January 31, 2005) – eMag Solutions, a leading electronic discovery company, today announced the commercial availability of its new software product, TapeSample, at the LegalTech New York Conference.

Currently, most vendors provide prospective customers with open-ended estimates for electronic discovery and data restoration projects because of difficulties in determining support for the backup software, especially in cases where there are multiple software versions or details about the backup software are unknown. As a result, costs escalate throughout the project and timelines are extended.

Through the use of TapeSample, companies can send media samples directly to eMag online, taking days off project set up time. Once a file is received, eMag can quickly determine the media tape format and use this information to create the most accurate estimate of project cost and time. In addition, eMag is able to identify media formats that require extended development time, enabling the company to make appropriate adjustments to these estimates.

“By engaging our customers with TapeSample early in the sales process, we are able to quickly determine the scope of a project and set the most realistic expectations for the completion of that project,” said Brendan Sullivan, president of eMag Solutions. “In many cases, we don’t even have to obtain a release of the physical tape media from its corporate environment.”
