Working in the Windows 32 bit environment (98, 2000, NT, XP) the applications for MM/PC are almost limitless. With its ability to automatically recognize and restore hundreds of different tape formats, data interchange, data conversion, forensic analysis and restoring tape backups from any type of computer are all within a single software package.

As part of ongoing product enhancement and as a result of specific requests and feedback from our customers, we have added the Forensic Logging Option.
The Forensic Logging Option allows you to do a directory and file listing of a tape without having to restore the tape to disk. It allows you to see the file names and other associated meta-data (access, creation & modification dates, file size etc). When combined with the Automatic Running Option you can tell MM/PC what file types you are interested in logging and it will only produce a log of these selected file types. With these two options it is possible to have a complete snap shot of a computer at a given time and date. Subsequent file changes or deletions can then be determined by comparing with later or earlier back up tapes.
