Atlanta (June 6, 2002) – On December 17th, 2001 eMag made an announcement related to the cessation of the manufacture of Open Reel (9-track) Tape at our Production facility in Graham, Texas. We received all of the final build requests, and have spent the past five months manufacturing these final requirements. This communication is to inform you that we have completed the build out of all of the final orders, and every account should now have received full delivery on all products ordered.
While this process has been complex, juggling all the labor, material and overhead requirements, we feel that it has been accomplished in a timely manner with minimal problems. Naturally it was very difficult to judge the exact final requirements, and as a result, we slightly over-estimated demand.
As a result we have a small overbuild of approximately 8,500 reels in total, including some 600′, 1200′, 2400′ in the U.S., and some 3600′ left over in Europe. The majority of product is in WLS, but there are some easyloads as well. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis.
