Atlanta (March 23, 2001) – eMag Solutions, L.L.C. today announced the addition of the Infinistore Virtual Disk System (IVD) to its line of quality storage products. This fully integrated Network Attached Storage appliance is available through a partnership with Grau Data Storage, specialists in providing user-friendly, large-capacity storage solutions. The IVD will be demonstrated on March 27 and 28 at the AFCOM Spring 2001 Conference and IS Expo in Las Vegas.
Grau Data’s IVD provides simple plug-and-play attachment to any network topology, providing seamless cross-platform file sharing for UNIX and Windows NT/2000. The unique design allows users to scale capacity from 2.5 TB to 35 TB while the system can be configured with Fibre Channel, ATM or Gigabit Ethernet connects for performance intensive applications.

Designed to backup and archive data-intensive applications, IVD’s scalable architecture tightly combines a complete HSM system into a very compact design, consuming less than one half square meter of floor space. The IVD system is based on a two-tier storage hierarchy, combining up to 400 GB of RAID-5 disk storage and up to 35 TB of capacity using AIT tape storage to deliver a dual level of high-volume data protection.
